Log into this hearing at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17th to show support as a virtual body even if you can’t listen! This petition is a formal request for the ECMC to hold a rulemaking to use the social cost of carbon to measure the climate impacts of proposed new wells, and also to tighten up their oversight of operator-reported data.

Several groups, with CCLC Member Organization WildEarth Guardians leading, have joined together to formally request this rulemaking. Kate Merlin will present the rulemaking petition and the ECMC will discuss and make a decision in Wednesday’s hearing. If the ECMC grants the petition they schedule a rulemaking proceeding on the topic. Note: the hearing on the petition may begin a few minutes earlier or later depending on how fast they are going through the agenda of the meeting.
