Salon duc Tape – The Inflation Reduction Act, Utility and State Tax Credits: What’s in it for ME? – January 26th

How do these programs work together to help you decarbonize your life?

At the salon on January 26th, Jan Rose of the Climate Reality Project Denver Chapter will discuss the many federal tax incentives, when they go into effect, how long they last, and what you can take advantage of them. She will merge that information with how the state of Colorado has matched those incentives, and what our utilities are doing to capitalize on all these once-in-a-lifetime savings to help them achieve their required goal of 80% renewable energy by 2030. A spoiler: 2024 is the best year you’ll likely ever have to decarbonize your life.  Jan will equip you with the tools to reduce your carbon footprint, because if you don’t consume it, you are helping to solve the climate crisis!

Jan was trained by Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project in 2017 and has been working on climate and energy legislation at the state level ever since. She is the Legislative Analyst and a Spokesperson for the Colorado Coalition for a Livable Climate (CCLC), a 48-member coalition of environmental, community and faith groups that band together to speak with one voice at the state legislature. In addition to Climate Reality Project and CCLC, she is also a member of Colorado Sierra Club, 350 Colorado, and Conservation Colorado.  Jan has an 8 kW solar array, organic garden, double composter, and a public EV charging station; and sends just one bag of trash per month to the landfill.  Sadly, it’s full of plastic packaging.

Salon duc Tape, a public forum sponsored by the Northern Colorado Alliance for a Livable Future  (NCALF), usually meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month from 7:00 — 9:00 p.m.  This meeting will be held online via Zoom; you will need to register in advance here.  After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information – including a new link – about joining the salon.
