Public Listening Session on Reducing GHG Intensity for O&G Sector
November 17 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
The Air Pollution Control Division invites you to two upcoming public listening sessions on greenhouse gas intensity verification. The goal of the greenhouse gas intensity program is to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emitted. This program is a strategy to achieve the Polis Administration’s goal to reduce methane emissions from the oil and gas sector in Colorado by at least 60% by 2030. Come learn more, ask questions, and share your thoughts!
Public Listening Session #1

The Air Quality Control Commission approved the greenhouse gas intensity standards in December 2021 and the standards take effect statewide in 2025. The verification rulemaking will be a critical part of applying the greenhouse gas intensity standards that the division developed. The goal of the greenhouse gas intensity program is to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emitted and this includes emissions of methane, carbon dioxide, and nitrous oxide. It also provides flexibility to operators for how to achieve reductions.
