Outdoor Series: Air Quality

November 11 @ 3:00 pm 6:00 pm

For this next Outdoor Series: Air Quality sponsored by Colorado Rising, we will discuss the impacts of air pollution on outdoor recreation and how it weighs heavily on Colorado families and outdoor enthusiasts. We will also touch on the proximity of oil and gas operations close to our trails, public lands & parks. From oil and gas operations surrounding our neighborhood reservoirs to our trailheads, we see dangerous and toxic operations close to our places of play – that’s not the Colorado way!

Colorado has seen a record amount of ozone alert days in the past couple of years. Pollution from industrial operations, climate change-driven wildfires, and vehicle traffic heavily impact the health of our clean mountain air. In 2023, Colorado saw 38 ozone alert days! We are warned to stay inside and not exercise if we experience respiratory issues. Yet, outdoor recreation is proven to enhance our mental and physical health, and our spiritual connection to Mother Nature.

Join us on November 11th, as the Outdoor Series:Air Quality event brings together expert voices from the scientific, environmental economics, litigation and outdoor adventure community to share perspectives on how poor air quality is taking a toll on Colorado’s clean mountain air.

This will be a hybrid event with limited in-person seating capacity. In-person attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy beverages by Lady Justice Brewery. All registrants will be automatically entered for a chance to win Patagonia gear and other surprises. Registrants must be in attendance (either in person or online) to win!
