Dr. Detlev Helmig of Boulder A.I.R. will update the Commissioners on the Boulder County funded air quality monitoring project, which is now in its fourth year. This project monitors for volatile organic compounds, nitrogen oxides, and methane concentrations at the Boulder Reservoir to assess the influence of surrounding sources of pollution, including from oil and gas. This project will help understand the sources of the ozone pollution that caused more than forty air quality action alert days this summer.
