Community Outreach and Engagement Sessions: Air Data Modernization

The Air Pollution Control Division is excited to announce significant upcoming improvements to the Stationary Source data system. Modernizing the Stationary Source data system will improve processing times, eliminate a number of paper-based processes, increase transparency, and improve public access to information.

DATA MODERNIZATION PROJECT GOALS

This multi-year project will make important air information easier for:

  • The public to access facility-specific information, including publicly-accessible data visualizations such as GIS maps and dashboards
  • Staff to process new actions which means timely incorporating critical public health and environmental protections
  • Businesses to input their data correctly and act in a timely fashion to implement any needed corrections

The data system will include information from a number of business types:

  • Oil and gas (~10,000 sources)
  • Power utilities (45)
  • Manufacturing (150)
  • Construction (75)
  • Landfills (80)
  • Agriculture (80)
  • Mining (1,000)
  • Retail (e.g., gas stations, dry cleaners) (1,600)
