On August 25, the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is holding a hearing on Xcel Energy’s proposed Large Load Tariff filing (Docket No. 26AL-0137E).

A large-load tariff would create specific terms, guardrails, and pricing for high-demand energy projects such as hyperscale data centers. The goal is to protect ratepayers from footing the bill for new infrastructure and generation needed to serve large-load customers.

Xcel’s proposal is a step in the right direction, but improvements to the proposal are needed to better protect ratepayers and keep Colorado on track to meet its emissions-reduction targets.

Your voice makes a huge difference in ensuring data centers pay their fair share and are incentivized to use clean energy sources. Show the PUC that this matters to you by registering to speak at the hearing or submitting written testimony.
