Geothermal can be an important part of a clean energy transition, but we need to make sure there are not unintended consequences. Many geothermal technologies are new and still in development so we need the strongest rules possible until more is known. Technologies include: use of fracking, repurposing old oil and gas wells, and using carbon dioxide as the substance to transfer heat.
